Bhrigu Lake is also known as Brighu Lake Kullu. This lake is named after Sage Bhrigu. Sage Bhrigu was one of the 7 great sages of Hinduism. Local people say that Sage Bhrigu did penance for many years on the banks of this lake. It is said in the scriptures that sage Bhrigu wrote the Bhrigu Samhita here after doing penance for many years. About Bhrigu Lake Trek

Bhrigu Lake is a very beautiful trek that starts from Gulaba village. This village is situated at a distance of 22 kilometers from Manali. This village is in the area of Pir Panjal mountain. During this trek, tourists get to see the beautiful view of deodar forests and mountains. To reach it, a long walk has to be done. This trekking is 26 km which can be completed in four to five days. One can also visit Tripura Sundari Temple and Gowarishankar Temple on the way during the Bhrigu trek. This trekking is also a bit dangerous because during trekking you have to climb some steep climbs.

How to reach Bhrigu Lake Trek

By Air: Tourists can also reach Manali by air. The nearest airport to Manali to reach Bhrigu Lake is Bhuntar, which is located at a distance of 52 km from Manali. Tourists can reach Manali by taxi or bus from Bhuntar. And then take a taxi from Manali and reach Gulaba Village and start your Bhrigu trek.

By Road: Manali is connected to every city in India. The major cities of Manali are Chandigarh and New Delhi. You can take HRTC buses from Delhi to Manali. The distance between Delhi to Manali is approximately 518 km (12 to 13 hours).

By Train: The nearest railway station to reach Manali by rail is Pathankot.
You can come by train from Delhi to Pathankot. And you can travel from Pathankot to Manali by car or you can take the hill train which reaches Jogindernagar. And then from Jogindernagar you can take a cab or take the HRTC bus to Manali.

Best time to visit Bhrigu Lake

The best time to trek Bhrigu Lake is from April to October as the weather remains clear at this time when you can enjoy nature. And after that, the winter season starts and due to rains, the street becomes slippery due to which there is a danger of falling.
