Siddharth Chauhan is an Independent filmmaker from Shimla Himachal Pradesh, India. He is a director, screenwriter, and producer. He was born on 24 September 1990 in the Sirmaur district of Himachal Pradesh. Currently, they are living in Shimla Himachal Pradesh. His father Balwan Singh Chauhan is a retired bank officer and his mother is a homemaker.
Siddharth Chauhan Early Life and Carrier
He completed his 10th from ECI Chalet Day School Shimla and then he did intervening from Dayanand Public School. after completing his schooling they complete his graduated from the University School of Business Studies with a BCA. He completes his MBA from Himachal Pradesh University Business School. During the MBA he starts studying filmmaking techniques from books and the internet.
He starts his film career during his MBA. In 2013 he made a Hindi and English film the film is gender-sensitive called ‘Boys don’t wear nail polish!’ in Shimla without a non-professional crew and a limited budget. And they got The Golden Halo award for this film. In 2015 he made a second film “The Infinite Space” a film based on a monk. In 2016 he made a film “Papa” The film is based on the relationship between disabling mother and son. He won the Best Film award for this film. In 2018 he made the movie Pashi he won the Best Cinematography Award for this film at Marietta. He got the Best Director award for this film at WMIFF 2018. And he has made making other so many films like Catch the Light, The Flying Trunk, Amar Colony, and Karma.
He had made all these films without receiving any professional training in this field. In 2014 he was awarded the “Youth Achiever” award by the Hindustan Times. His films have also been presented in different places like the UK, China, Canada, Indonesia, Italy, New Zealand, the US, and Belarus. He is the first filmmaker from Himachal Pradesh who has taken local films out of India.
