    Samaresh Jung was born on 5 May 1970 in Haripur Khula Nahan, Himachal Pradesh. Samaresh Jung is an Indian shooter. He is an air pistol expert. Won two gold medals in the 25m standard pistol pairs open event at the 2002 Commonwealth Games in Manchester. His companion was Jaspal Rana. He competed in the 10 m air pistol at the 2008 Summer Olympics but did not reach the final. And also participated in the 50-meter pistol event and did not reach the final in that also.

    Samaresh Jung Early Life

    Samaresh’s father was a retired colonel of the Indian Army. Jung completed his early education at the Modern School in Delhi. And he did his graduation from Osmania University, Hyderabad. Samaresh lives in New Delhi with his family. Samaresh is also a good chess player. He learned the art of shooting from his grandfather Sher Jung. His grandfather was a freedom fighter. And was also a good shooter. Samaresh Jung was awarded the Arjuna Award in 2002. Jung is currently serving in CISF. On 3 October 2010, she had the honor of carrying the Queen’s Baton into the stadium at the opening ceremony of the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi. He is married to Anuja Jung. And Anuja Jung is also an Indian shooter.


    Jung is an Inspector in the Central Industrial Security Force. He won two gold, one silver, and one bronze medal at the 2nd South Asian Federation Shooting Championship in Delhi in 1997. At the 2002 Manchester Commonwealth Games, he won two gold medals in the men’s free pistol pair 25-meter standard pistol pair open. events. He won five gold, one silver, and one bronze medal at the 2006 Commonwealth Games. At the closing ceremony, he was presented with the David Dixon Award for “Most Outstanding Athlete at the 18th Commonwealth Games”. He has been honored with the Arjuna Award.
