Vikram Rathore was appointed the batting coach of the Indian cricket team. In November 2021, he was reappointed based on his successful tenure.     Vikram Rathore was born on 26 March 1969 in Hamirpur Himachal Pradesh. Vikram Rathore’s father moved from Hamirpur, Himachal Pradesh to Jalandhar, Punjab for business. This is how Vikram Rathore’s cricket journey began from Jalandhar. As a prolific run-scorer in domestic cricket, Rathore’s contribution to the Punjab team was invaluable. His technique and consistency made him a formidable opponent on the field. Known for his brilliant stroke play, Rathore had a special fondness for the cover region.     Rathore is a former Indian cricketer and cricket coach, best known for his stint as a right-handed opening batsman. He represented India in 6 Tests and 7 ODIs between 1996 and 1997. Rathore was an exceptional run scorer at the first-class level, scoring 11,473 runs in 146 matches at an average of 49.66, including several brilliant centuries. In List A cricket, he scored 3,161 runs in 99 games. On 27 September 2012, Vikram Rathore was appointed as the national selector from North Zone. Rathore retired from first-class cricket in November 2003. In his Test career, he scored 131 runs in 10 innings of six matches, with his highest score being 44 against South Africa at The Wanderers. He was part of the Ranji Trophy-winning team under the coaching of Bishan Singh Bedi and played for Himachal Pradesh.
