Sidh Baba Balak Nath cave temple is located in Chakmoh village of Hamirpur district of Himachal Pradesh. When Baba Balak Nath was traveling to Char Dham, he reached a place called Shahtalai where he met Maa Ratno. Mother Ratno did not have any children. So she made Baba Balak Nath ji her righteous son. And she used to take care of the cows from Baba ji. Baba Balak Nath ji grazed his cow for 12 years and used to give him lassi and roti to eat. But Baba Balak Nath ji was engrossed in penance, so he used to forget the food given by mother Ratno. One day when Baba Balak Nath ji was engrossed in penance, the cows spoiled the entire crop of the fields.

Due to this people narrated a lot to Maa Ratno and got his complaints to the police. When Maa Ratno criticized Baba Balak Nath ji that he does not take good care of the cows whereas Maa Ratno used to take full care of their food and drink. So Baba Balak Nath ji took him to the place where he used to do penance and there he produced Chapati from the trunk of the tree and lassi from the ground. And then Baba Balak Nath ji left Shahtalai and left. While leaving, he promised Mother Ratno that he would come to Shahtalai every year in the month of Chaitra.
