Karol Tibba Trek is a popular trekking trail located in the Solan district of Himachal Pradesh, India. And Karol Tibba is the highest peak of Solan.Karol Tibba holds religious significance for the local people. It is believed to be the abode of Goddess Kali, and there is a small temple dedicated to her at the summit. During the festival of Navratri, devotees gather here. This trek can be completed in a day and can also be done for 2 days by camping. The route of the trek is easy and can be done throughout the year. It should not be visited during monsoon when it rains then it becomes difficult to walk. It is a relatively easy and pleasant trek that attracts both beginners and experienced trekkers.

Karol Tibba Trek

The summit of Karol Tibba offers breathtaking views of the Solan Valley and the surrounding hills. On a clear day, you can even see the distant Shivalik range and the plains of Punjab. It is about 6 km from Solan city center. The trek can usually be completed in a day, taking around 6-8 hours to reach the summit and return. It is a moderate trek with a total distance of around 10 to 12 km.

If we talk about how to reach then it starts from Solan Chambaghat. After a short walk from Chambaghat comes a village where you can take some rest and drink water. Trekkers are advised to carry water bottles with them. And take some food items along with you. The trek route is very beautiful, after walking above the village some dry mountains will come, then after that very dense forest. The path passes through very dense forests. Then there are 2 routes, one leads to Pandav Cave and one to Karol Tibba. You can go to Pandav cave while leaving and also on arrival as you wish. The entire route offers panoramic views of the beautiful meadows, surrounding valleys, and snow-capped peaks.

Permit and Guide

Normally no permit is required for this trek. However, it is advised to check with the local authorities or trekking agencies for any updated rules. Hiring a local guide is recommended, especially for first-time trekkers, as they can provide valuable insights and ensure your safety. The Karol Tibba trek can be enjoyed throughout the year, except during the heavy monsoon season. The ideal time to visit is during the months of March to June and September to November when the weather is pleasant.

Remember to carry essential trekking gear, enough water, snacks, and a camera to capture the natural beauty along the way. It is also advised to wear comfortable trekking shoes and carry a light jacket as the weather can change quickly in the mountains.
